Drink Review: Freight Train

Posted by jc522 On September - 29 - 2009

trainFreight Train

My take on it:

The first time I ever had this shot was on my 19th birthday. My friend ordered it for me and it was near the end of the night and for some reason I heard “grape drink” instead of “freight train.” I drank it down quickly, I was already drunk at this point, and I immediately screamed out to the amusement of my friends, “That tastes nothing like grape drink!” Read the rest of this entry »

Drink Review: Galvatron

My take on it:

There’s a music video about this on youtube called “Galvatron,” it’s created by Stanley Wong. It’s worth a try at least once in your life, which might also be the last time you drink it. I don’t know how they can drink 3 of this in one night, 1 is more than enough for me. It’ll get the job done though if your goal is to get pretty drunk, by any means necessary. It’s really stiff and I suggest shooting it down like a shot as quickly as possible, don’t sip on it unless you’re into drinking really strong drinks. Read the rest of this entry »

Bringing home a new puppy

Posted by jc522 On September - 28 - 2009

dogsThings to consider first

Bringing a new puppy into your home is very exciting time, you’re bringing home you’re newest companion and family member. It’s great to be excited but let’s not forget that “R” word, responsibility. This little one is depending on you to feed them, bathe them, exercise them, and to love them and in return they’ll love you unconditionally. If you can barely take care of yourself at this point, maybe it’s better to wait before adopting a puppy. Plain and simple, another life is in your hands. Read the rest of this entry »

My first time at the shooting range and why I had to do it.

Posted by jc522 On September - 26 - 2009

shooting range

Everyone has a list of things they’d like to accomplish before they die, a bucket list if you will. Well somewhere on my un-numbered list was to shoot off a firearm, and what a better time to scratch something off that list than now.

I’ve seen enough action movies before, how hard could it possibly be right? You just load it up, cock it back, point and shoot. there has to be more to it than that? Why are there shooting clubs, competitions, forums, and a general lifestyle around it? What am I missing out on? I set out to answer that question by going to the local shooting range. Today would be the day I discovered something new, and I was ready for it. I already know what guns were capable of and how responsible you have to be, so don’t think I went in there being a reckless fool hell bent on shooting anything in front of me. The Value of an Emergency fund and how to save for one

bank The Value of an Emergency fund and how to save for one

Recently I had to take some unforeseen amount of unpaid time off work, while some see it as a great vacation I saw it as a great amount of stress.  You see, like many people, I didn’t have an emergency fund. I was living check to check and I thought I had great job security. I basically thought I was invincible. Hoping for the best is a common thing to do, but hoping isn’t going to get your bills paid if something happens to you or your job. You have to take action by preparing for the worst, you do this by saving up for an emergency fund. Read the rest of this entry »

How I quit smoking, and you can too

Posted by jc522 On September - 24 - 2009

smokeEveryone has their reasons as to why they want to quit, some for health and others realize how expensive it can be. I’ve been smoking for the past 11 years, I’ve stopped many times but starting up again technically doesn’t mean I quit, but I decided that this time it was for good.

How am I ever going to get my day started without a smoke  or how am I going to survive a meal without a smoke afterwards? Smoking is a repetitive habit that gets drilled into our brains and we’re so used to doing it as part of our routine, such as waking up or after every meal. Read the rest of this entry »
