So since I worked on Thanksgiving weekend, I was forced to cook Thanksgiving dinner on my second day off. I went to the grocery store the day after Thanksgiving to look for a turkey, expecting a sale I was sadly let down. Everyone knows the law of supply and demand and how it governs the cost of things, so how come when the demand for turkeys went down the price didn’t? Okay so in an earlier article told you I went to the shooting range. I finished it off by saying that I finished off my rounds and went home, I wasn’t being completely truthful. The truth is, I went and traded in the Springfield XD-40 for a HK USP .45 ACP. In fact, I didn’t even stop there. After that, I traded in the HK USP .45 ACP for a Colt AR-15.  I love eating shellfish, especially crab, but I’m severely allergic if the shellfish is dead before it’s cooked. I break out into hives all over and my throat begins to close up a bit, but nothing a little Benadryl can’t fix. Everyone has a list of things they’d like to accomplish before they die, a bucket list if you will. Well somewhere on my un-numbered list was to shoot off a firearm, and what a better time to scratch something off that list than now.

I’ve seen enough action movies before, how hard could it possibly be right? You just load it up, cock it back, point and shoot. there has to be more to it than that? Why are there shooting clubs, competitions, forums, and a general lifestyle around it? What am I missing out on? I set out to answer that question by going to the local shooting range. Today would be the day I discovered something new, and I was ready for it. I already know what guns were capable of and how responsible you have to be, so don’t think I went in there being a reckless fool hell bent on shooting anything in front of me.
