Everyone hates the long wait at the hospital waiting room, but unless you’re bleeding very bad they won’t tend to you first. Even if you get there first, they deal with people in worse off state than you first. Simply coughing won’t get you anywhere, they’ll just give you a mask to wear. To make it worse, you’re hungry and don’t know how long you’re going to be. There’s the overpriced vending machines there, but why pay when you can get food for free. So how do you do this?
With a little white lie of course. Find the nicest looking nurse, this is very important, you don’t want to approach the nurse with “BITCH” written across her forehead. He or she couldn’t care less about if you’re about to pass out or not. So find the nicest looking one and you tell them you haven’t eaten all day, you feel a little woozy and weak, and you might pass out. Depending how nice your nurse is they’ll go and get you something to eat. I’ve gotten Jello and juice, assorted sandwiches, and most recently, peanut butter and jelly sandwich with not 1, but 2 cups of orange juice.
Why spend $2 on a bag of chips that probably won’t fill you up and then another $2 on a drink? Hospital food may not be the best food, but free food is always good in my books. Plus if you’re waiting hours in the emergency room waiting to see a doctor, the least they can do is feed you.
