Maybe you have a buddy who’s celebrating their birthday and it’s customary to get them something nasty to drink. You might be playing a drinking game and sometimes the loser needs a punishment shot. Worse yet, someone spills their alcohol and you call party foul on them and now they need to take a punishment shot. I’ve compiled the 5 worst ones I have ever drank in this list. Here they are in no particular order.
1. Bar mat shot: Bartenders usually line up the shot cups on a black rubber matt and pour the alcohol into the shot cups, the purpose of that black mat is to not make the bar sticky by catching the spilt alcohol. I’m not sure who had the bright idea of pouring all the spilt alcohol into a shot glass at the end of the night and making some poor drinker drink it, but it’s nasty none the less.
2. Cement mixer: 1 shot cup filled with Baileys Irish cream and another filled with lime juice. You make the person drink the lime juice first and hold it in their mouth as they shoot the baileys and also hold it in their mouth. Swish it around for a quick second and you’re going to end up chewing it instead of drinking it.
3. Jagerbomb with a twist: A Jagerbomb is a drop shot of Jägermeister into a high ball glass of Red bull. What happens if the bar doesn’t have Red bull? You drop it into a glass of beer instead. There’s a saying about Liquor before beer but it doesn’t apply if you drink both at the same time.
4. Super sour jack: 5 years after my 18th birthday, I still can’t drink sour jacks because of this. A Sour Jack is Sour Puss and Jack Daniel’s mixed into a 1oz shot glass. You take a glass that they serve water in, which is taller than any glass they serve alcohol in, and fill it 3/4 with Jack Daniels and the last 1/4 with Sour Puss. They tested the glass they had used on my 18th birthday and found out it held 13 oz’s.
5. China Jump: At least 2 people are needed because this is more of a game instead of just a shot, just as punishing none the less. Each person participating needs 6 shot glasses in front of them, 3 filled with juice, 2 filled with vodka, and 1 filled with tequila. Line them up starting with a vodka shot and alternate a shot of juice in between each one. So vodka, juice, vodka, juice, tequila, juice. Hands behind your back, no touching allowed, and straw in your mouth you drink each shot glass 1 by 1 through that straw. Last person to finish has to do another set by themselves. Don’t forget that every last drop in the shot glasses has to be cleared or that’s a party foul and warrants a punishment shot.
